Where Will We Stand?

Where will we stand when the darkness comes?
What will we do
When shadows fall
And we see all
We ever knew
Put to the test?

Where will we stand when it comes to war?
Will we bravely fight
When hope seems gone
And on and on
The hosts of night
Sweep over us?

Where will we stand when our doubts assail?
Will we still believe
That love is strong?
That we belong?
Will peace relieve
Our aching hearts?

Where will we stand when oppression comes?
Will we take the shame,
The grief and loss,
The heavy cross,
And strive to claim
A victory?

Where will we stand on the judgment day?
With our deep souls bared?
Where thoughts unsaid
And truths we fled
And sins unshared
Are brought to light.

Where will we stand when the kingdom comes?
Will our hearts embrace
A Lord long - known,
When He is shown
In splendid grace
And majesty?

Where will we stand?
